We are delighted to share this limited release of The Legendary Red Silkie Cask Strength. The Red Silkie Cask Strength is, like the 46% bottling, non-chill filtered and hand-bottled, with a hand written numbered footer label. Bottled at 63.2% ABV the Red Silkie has remarkable softness, rich complexity and aromatic red fruit notes.
This release of just 210 bottles is only available from the Distillery and from our Irish and UK online stores.
Deep amber with a hint of ruby red
Fruity with oaky spice
Intense with red berry and resinous tannins, the spice notes and Seville orange citrus and spice notes are present but take a time to open. A drop of water opens up the gentler more aromatic notes and while the Silkie sweetness is unmistakable the hint of peat has been subdued.
The red berry subsides quickly, licorice, tobacco and oak. It lingers but doesn’t overstay.
